Frequently Asked Questions
Who is leading and driving the workshop?
I will do the driving for these workshops, as it allows us the best freedom to explore the landscape as the light dictates.
What level of photography experience is required?
Workshops are open to all levels. However, having a basic understanding of manual exposure settings will be beneficial to your experience in the field.
What is the maximum group size?
To ensure a high-quality, personal experience, groups are limited to a maximum of 5 or 6 participants.
What kind of transport will we be using?
Travel is primarily by van or truck. In cities, we occasionally use public transport to remain efficient and avoid traffic delays.
How much walking or physical activity is involved?
Not a huge amount. While we walk more in cities, we can generally park relatively close to our shooting locations. I highly recommend comfortable, all-weather footwear.
What gear and lenses are essential?
I always err on the side of caution. I suggest a focal range from 16mm to 200mm to cover everything from wide vistas to intimate details.
Is a tripod mandatory?
It is not mandatory but highly recommended. You will want to ensure you can capture the sharpest images possible in challenging conditions.
Can I bring a drone?
You can, but I strongly suggest you research the local laws for the specific destination before deciding to pack it.
Are meals and accommodation included?
Accommodation is included. Meals are included only if specified by the accommodation provider; otherwise, you will pay for your own meals.
What is the policy for bad weather?
I am happy to shoot in bad weather as long as it is safe. Otherwise, we can use the time for group editing, discussion, or relaxing.
Will there be time for image reviews and critiques?
Yes, we can set aside time to review images. However, I also encourage using free time to explore the local surroundings or rest.
Do I need specific travel insurance or visas?
Travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for joining. Regarding visas, please check current requirements for your specific country, as these rules change frequently.
Is there time for solo exploration?
Yes, and I highly encourage it. I love the idea of getting lost in a place. We will stay in contact via WhatsApp so you are never truly lost.
How is luggage handled during the trip?
Your luggage will be carried with us in our private transport for the duration of the journey.
What is the deposit and cancellation policy?
A non-refundable deposit is required at booking to secure your place. The final balance is due 90 days before departure. For bookings within 90 days, full payment is required immediately. A signed liability waiver must be provided 60 days before the start.
