Workshop Terms & Conditions

The Shared Promise of the Journey

1. Registration & The Commitment

A photography workshop is a shared promise. To secure your place on a scouting mission or intensive workshop, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

  • Final Balance: The remaining balance is due in full 90 days prior to the start of the journey.
  • Last-Minute Bookings: For reservations made within 90 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.
  • Documentation: Participants must provide a completed profile and signed liability waiver no later than 60 days before departure.

2. If the Path Changes (Cancellations)

Because we keep our groups small—often limited to just 5 or 6 photographers—a cancellation significantly impacts the unit. Our refund policy is structured to protect the feasibility of the expedition.

  • More than 120 days out: Full refund of monies paid, minus the initial deposit and any administrative processing fees.
  • 90 to 120 days out: 50% of the workshop fee (excluding deposit) is refundable.
  • Less than 90 days out: No refunds can be issued. We strongly mandate comprehensive travel insurance to protect your investment.
If "All The Ways You Wander" must cancel a trip due to insufficient enrollment or force majeure, you will receive a 100% refund of all fees paid to us. We are not responsible for external costs such as airfare or gear purchases.

3. Itinerary Flexibility & The Ritual of Light

We chase light, not just timestamps. While our itineraries are carefully crafted, they are "field notes," not rigid contracts. Neil Arthurs reserves the right to shift locations or schedules based on weather, safety, or unique photographic opportunities. The goal is always the best possible visual storytelling experience.

4. Responsibility & Physicality

Our journeys often involve "rugged coastal regions, alpine passes, or the dust of the bush." By registering, you certify that you meet the fitness requirements (Easy/Moderate/Challenging) specified on the workshop page.

  • Mandatory Insurance: Emergency medical and evacuation insurance is required for all international workshops.
  • Equipment: You are responsible for the safety and insurance of your own camera gear and personal effects.
  • Liability: While we navigate with the utmost care, Neil Arthurs is not liable for personal injury, property theft, or travel delays.

5. Ethics of the Gaze

We are guests in the landscapes and cultures we visit. We expect all participants to act with professional ethics—respecting local customs, wildlife, and the creative space of fellow photographers. We reserve the right to ask a participant to leave (without refund) if their conduct is disruptive to the "analog ritual" of the group.

6. Captured Moments (Media Release)

During the workshop, I may capture "behind-the-scenes" images or video for use in documenting the "All The Ways You Wander" experience. By participating, you grant permission for these to be used on my website or Substack. If you wish to remain private, please notify me in writing prior to the trip.
